The Continuing Education Programme (CEP), Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has commenced sale of form for her CEP programme for the 2023/2024 Academic Session leading to the award of Bachelor’s Degree.
According to the CEP unit, application and registration is online and could be done anywhere within Nigeria. Candidates are expected to visit any cyber cafe of their choice and log on to: myedu.unizik.edu.ng, follow the guideline and information on filling of form which includes – Generating INVOICE NUMBER for application fee payment of thirteen thousand naira (N13,000), online payment using the ATM VISA or MASTER Card, confirmation of payment, completion of the online registration form and printing out of the completed registration form after which the candidate must proceed to the CEP General Office to submit a photocopy of the online application form’s printout with accompanying photocopy of each of the claimed certificates securely attached to the application letter.
The CEP programme is for a duration of five (5) years and four (4) years for Direct Entry (DE) candidates for courses in the Faculties of Arts, Education, Management Sciences, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences with exception of Faculty of Agriculture which lasts for six (6) years and five (5) years for Direct Entry (DE).
Candidates seeking for admission into CEP programme of UNIZIK should possess a minimum academic qualification of five (5) O’Level credits in GCE, SSCE, TCII examinations or their equivalents with Faculty and Departmental requirements expected to be fulfilled while candidates with November and December O’Level results of the same year of admission are not permitted to apply.
Also candidates with additional qualifications such as UNIZIK Diploma and UNIZIK JUPEB with five (5) grade points and above, OND, NCE, HND, B.A/B.Sc. or their equivalent are advised to apply for Direct Entry.
Courses are offered by the Faculty of Agriculture in the Departments of Agricultural Economics and Extension; Animal Science and Technology; Crop Science and Horticulture; Fisheries and Aqua-culture; Forestry and Wildlife Management; Soil Science and Land Resources Management. For Faculty of Arts, available courses are in the field of English Language and Literature; History and International Studies; Igbo, African and Asian Studies; Linguistics; Modern and European Languages; Philosophy; Religion and Human Relations; Music and Chinese Studies.
Courses available in Faculty of Management Sciences are Accountancy; Banking and Finance; Business Administration; Cooperative Economics and Management; Marketing; Public Administration and Entrepreneural Studies. The Faculty of Physical Sciences offers discipline in Computer Science; Physics and Industrial Physics; and Statistics while for Faculty of Social Sciences, the available courses are Economics; Mass Communication; Political Science; Psychology and Sociology.
Faculty of Education has a wide range of courses for the Department of Adult Education and Continuing Education with options in (Accountancy, Economics, Marketing, Mass Communication and Political Science); Department of Educational Management and Policy has options in (Accountancy, Business Administration, Health Education, Political Science, Computer Science, Cooperative Economics and Management, Economics, English, Igbo, History and Entrepreneurship).
Department of Educational Foundations has options in (English, Political Science, Economics, Igbo, French, History, Music and Religion), Department of Science Education has options in (Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science) while Department of Vocational and Technical Education possess options such as (Business Education/Accounting; Business Education/Commerce and Cooperative; Technical Education – Building/Woodwork; Technical Education – Auto Mechanical Technology; Technical Education – Electrical/Electronics). For Department of Guidance and Counselling, the options are (Guidance and Counselling; Guidance and Counselling/Biology; and Guidance and Counselling/Heath), other disciplines are in the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education; Department of Human Kinetics and Sports Science; Department of Health Promotion and Public Health Education and Department of Library and Information Science.
