UNIZIK Don, Dr. Uzoh Wins Alexander Von Humboldt Fellowship For Experienced Researchers

Engr. Dr. Chigozie Francolins Uzoh, has won the Alexander Von Humboldt Fellowship for Experienced Researchers at the Institute of Solid Process Engineering, Technical University of Hamburg, Germany.

Dr. Uzoh, a Reader (Associate Professor) in the Department of Petroleum Engineering was the immediate past Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Through the Humboldt Research Fellowship, the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation sponsors researchers with above-average qualifications from across the globe with the fellow benefiting from individual support from the Humboldt Foundation and their diverse sponsorship portfolio

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation aims to achieve a good balance between genders and a high level of diversity in research fields among its fellows in all areas of human endeavour not limited to Science, Technology and Engineering.

Dr. Uzoh is expected to proceed on research leave which is for a period of a year effective from 5th January, 2025 to 4th January, 2026 in the first instance and renewable for another one year.

Dr. Uzoh’s research interest involves developing a fundamental understanding of the design and optimization of processes and products for environmental applications, controlled release coated fertilizer (CRCF), petroleum and petrochemicals, biofuel and sustainable coating technologies

The young scholar who hails from Awka in Awka South LGA of Anambra State is also a recipient of Postdoctoral Researchers Award from the Institute of Process Engineering, Beijing, China between in 2019, under the Chinese Academy of Science President’s International Fellowship Initiative (CAS-PIFI).
