ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT BOOST SECURITY BY INSTALLING CCTV CAMERAS.

Apparently in it’s efforts to stamp out criminality and boost security, the Anambra state government says CCTV cameras have been installed in strategic places in the state.

This was disclosed by the state Commisioner for information, Dr Law Mefor during a courtesy visit by members of UNIZIK FM at his office at Jerome Udoji Secretariat Awka.

He said that the CCTV cameras were installed across strategic secret places in the state with people situated at command and control centers to monitor the 21 local government Areas of the state.

He apologised for not reaching out to the students in the state since his inception of office and promised to right out the wrong.

highlighting that Security has been one Area that the State government has not scored high compared to other areas in the state.

Dr Mefor explained that everything that is required to boost security in the state has been put in place as he believes insecurity in the state will soon be a thing of the past with the introduction of operation Udo ga achi as enshrined in the ANAMBRA Homeland security law of 2025.

He described that achievement as one of the core strategies of the Prof Chukwuma soludo administration in wiping hoodlums totally from the state.

He appealed to hoodlums and kidnappers in the state to surrender for rehabilitation for their betterment as the state is entirely out to flush them out of the state.

While lamenting the rise of Cultism, idolatry and ritual killings amongst the youths today especially in the state, he informed that the State call center has also been installed which is 5111 to enable people make their complaint which will be treated on confidentiality.

According to him, the Governor also went further to place a fee of 5million to anyone who provides any accurate information on security matters that will help in clamping down on hoodlums in the state.

Earlier in her speech ,the Director, UnizikFm, Prof Ifeoma Dunu explained that the FM family decided to pay the commissioner a courtesy visit to initiate a collaboration between The Radio House, students and the State government in order to build a huge communication platform for the state

She explained that the radio station has been at the forefront of accomodating government policies in their programming as a community radio and promised continuity.

While commending the state government for it’s policies in improving the well-being of Ndi ANAMBRA prof Dunu Called for more concrete people oriented actions from the State government as well as build a synergy between the government and the people.

Also resent at the courtesy visit were Deputy Director, Prof Cornelius Ukwueze, Station manager, Mrs Ify Obi, Amaka madu and Grace okoli Emmanuel.
