RETREAT/TRAINING FOR STAFf OF THE DEPARTMENT OF StUDENTS AFFAIRS UNIZIK.

The importance for an improved service delivery amongst staff of any establishment has been described as the bedrock for human development. This was the main objective of a one day Retreat and training for staff of the department of Students Affairs Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka ,held at Asuu Secretariat. In his opening Speech,The Dean Student Affairs Prof Bierenu Makordi,Explained that since the  department is centered on handling Students Affairs and wellbeing, they deemed fit to organise the training in order to deliberate on the issues of how best to handle the Affairs of the student appropriately as the students are expected to get adequate answers from the department. Prof Bierenu enumerated different achievements of the department so far which includes Digital orientation for 2024/2025 students Union government, for the first time in many years,The first year students were issued the University's Identity cards as and when due before the commencement of their first  Semester Exams,Organization of National youth service Corp free mobilisation orientation for prospective student. Also presently working on creating a conducive hostel allocation,highlighting that the department is structured into 6 units whose heads make up the working team to achieving "Let's do our Best Agenda of the department in a vision of collective work towards achieving Efficient service delivery. 
He therefore encouraged the Participants to strive towards doing their best. 
Contributing ,the sub Dean of the students Affairs department Mr Chinedu Mbanisi emphasised on the Need for the staff of the department to ensure that the students always leave their offices full of smiles and fulfilment as they see them as their last resort. 
Earlier in his speech, the chairman of the occasion Prof Dennis Aribodor commended the department for organising such staff Retreat pointing out that such training has not taken place in the department for a long time.,and advised the participants to be attentive for their own good. 
4 training lectures were delivered by different resource person's who includes Mrs Nnenna Nwadike who is the head of training ITF Awka on Work Ethics, Pastor Eze on goal oriented values In the service of students and Prof Chijioke Abah on Achieving human resource effectiveness in the Affairs of students .
Highlights of the training was issuance of certificates to participants and  token for the most attentive participant.
