Visually impaired students from the Centre for Disability (CENDASNER) Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.receny received scholarships worth N300,000 each from MTN .The students were 13 received the scholarship in an event held at Enugu ,Who were led by the Deputy Director II Dr Loretta Ifeoma Nnaji, CENDASNER office Secretary Ms. Ifeoma Adugo and Student Affairs unit coordinator, Mrs. Onyinye Ogar. Speaking to Unizik Radio FM news reporter in a telephone interview shortly after the awards ceremony, the director, Prof Williams Emeka Obiozor praised MTN for the wonderful annual financial support they provide to students with disabilities since the past five years.
This kind gestures have promoted a lot of confidence and seriousness in the academic activities of the students. A lot of less privileged students have found succour and help from MTN from this scholarships and CENDASNER appreciates them”, he added. Prof Obiozor thanked the acting Vice Chancellor for the assistance she gave the Centre for the students transportation to and from the award ceremony in Enugu and prayed for more Assistance to The students as it helps in the facilitation. Process of their Academic pursuits.
On their own part,The Students showed their appreciation to the management of Unizik and CENDASNER director Prof Willie obizor for their continuous Assistance…and promised to be more punctual and committed to their Education…
